I am Lisa Vallado. I am a minimally speaking autistic Biologist. I achieved my goal of accessing higher education and graduating college. However, this is just the beginning of many goals, including continuing my education in neuroscience and participating in the workforce. I am actively advocating higher education for women with disabilities and individuals with autism. I have presented at several local and national conferences, sharing my journey to college and encouraging others to never give up on their dreams. I was also the subject of the short documentary “Sisterly,” a finalist for the Student Academy Awards in 2017. I like all kinds of activities such as running, playing hockey, surfing, listening to music, and traveling. I believe in inclusion and accessibility to all.
