neurolyrical cafe

Neurolyrical Cafe is a monthly event partnering with Unrestricted Interest, a writing program and consultancy dedicated to helping neurodivergent learners transform their lives through writing. The Cafe allows nonspeaking writers to share their authentic selves without competition or bias and broadcast on a clear frequency their latest work and a collaborative “Spellerverse” group piece. The best part is that it is free to attend for anyone interested in joining us!

Boards & Chords

Boards & Chords is a virtual music festival celebrating and showcasing nonspeaking songwriters from all over the world. We showcase the work of spellers and typers who create music. This is a free concert full of music, encouragement, and community. There are two showtimes spanning multiple geographical regions and time zones, making Boards & Chords available to the Spellerverse worldwide! All nonspeakers are welcome to submit a proposal for a song.

Spell X

SpellX is a free online, salon-style event to share short passionate talks, poetry, presentations, and talents from nonspeaking, minimally speaking, and unreliably speaking individuals who spell and type to communicate. This event aims to increase access to communication for all nonspeaking people by demonstrating all that is possible with a reliable means of robust communication! These presentations will give you a glimpse into the lives of some of our nonspeaking, minimally speaking, and unreliably speaking Spellers. SpellX is presented in six geographical regions/time zones, making SpellX available to Spellerverse members worldwide.

motormorphosis

Motormorphosis is our yearly conference on all things S2C. We start Friday with a one-day S2C Practitioner Conference. Friday night, we kick off the general conference with a huge party for our Spellers. We have a variety of presentations and panels given by both nonspeakers and speakers that are sure to pique your interest.

In years past, we’ve had political panels where Spellers discuss disability rights with politicians, presentations on new research regarding autism and S2C, songwriting sessions with Unrestricted Interest, and so much more. At the end of the day, Motormorphosis is a time to connect with the Spellerverse live and in person. This Annual Motormorphosis Conference is held in Herndon, Virginia, every July. We can’t wait to see you there!

let's connect
